These are few build shots of the DOOM armor I am building for Halloween and for future cosplay/comic conventions. The primary material I am using is EVA foam, Weldwood Cement, and LOTS OF patience. The final shot is the most current stage, where I am applying Plasi-Spray to seal and strengthen the EVA foam before painting. The imperfections on the material are purposely done, as to simulate bullet damage, hell spawn grabbing at me, and all the other things that will occur when battling the hoards of Hell as a lone UAC Space Marine on Mars.
Ive noticed during my construction of this costume, the lack of people that have made the DOOM armor or more known as “Doom Guy” armor. Of those that have been made, there is many things lacking on each. Whether it be attention to detail, correct color, or over all flow of the costume, none have that “real” feel to them. This is why I felt so compelled to produce a Doom Guy that felt authentic to the DOOM series, while pulling design elements from the various DOOM games.
